Jurlique Lavender Hydrating Mist - review

I was sent this face mist to review a while ago and I've been meaning to post on it for the past couple of weeks.

Long story short, I think it's nice but I don't think it's worth the hefty price-tag and I personally wouldn't buy it for myself. Still, I'm enjoying it.

Jurlique claims/product details:

  • This replenishing mist leaves the skin feeling hydrated, refreshed and rebalanced
  • Marshmallow root extract and glycerin act as natural humectants, drawing moisture to the skin for long-lasting, intense hydration
  • Scented with natural lavender essential oil, while the natural antioxidant properties of grapefruit seed protect against environmental aggressors
  • A hydrating facial mist to refresh and soothe the senses
  • RRP $49 AUD for 100ml

The product comes in a beautiful little glass bottle complete with a pump.

While I think it's lovely to look at and hold, it's not something I would travel with because it's too heavy and of course it could break - and since this is available in a smaller travel size, I think that's worth mentioning.

Verdict

This is a nice face mist and I've enjoyed testing it. Nevertheless, it's expensive for what it is and I personally wouldn't buy the full-size for myself - especially because there are other face mists I prefer.

For example, if you want a budget mist that does a beautiful job, I recommend the Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun Spray (reviewed here); and if you're happy to splurge, I like Alpha-H's Daily Essential Vitamin Mist (reviewed here). Both of these products work better for me than this Jurlique one does, and the Banana Boat mist is a lot cheaper.

As for this Jurlique product, it's a standard mist that smells like lavender. What I like about it is that it feels very soothing and cooling when applied. Indeed, it would be a great product for summer because it's so refreshing.

It also feels a little hydrating, and while it's not the most hydrating mist I've used (I have dry skin and need something with more punch), it still does something and I think it would be enough for me in summer when my skin isn't so dry.

What I don't like about it is that the spray itself isn't fine enough, so it leaves little droplets on my face that can create holes in my makeup. Since I mostly use face mists over makeup, this isn't a good thing for me and I may well decant mine into a different bottle, now that I've tested it. Do note that I've used Jurlique mists before and haven't run into problems with the spray (they've been fine enough before), so I'm not sure if I got a dud one or whether the spray on this one is different. Either way, it's not fine enough for me.

Overall I think this is a nice face mist, and while it's not the best one I've used on my dry skin, I still think it's lovely and I especially enjoy how soothing it is. It's also super refreshing, so if that's what you're after in a face mist, this may be one to try.

Nice but not my favourite.
