Cheek Room Pore Brush - review

We received this product in Memebox Superbox #63 Blackheads No More, which is definitely one of the best boxes I chose from Memebox.
As you can see, my package arrived a little crushed. Fortunately the contents were fine.
When I first opened this, it felt like the most amazing thing I'd ever touched. Seriously. So soft and smooth. I kept picking it up just to feel it!
Unfortunately it doesn't feel like the same product once it's wet because the bristles clump together. And you're kind of meant to use it wet...
Cheek Room claims/product details:
- Over 310 thousand fine bristles (WTF? Cool!) thinner than 0.045mm gently yet effectively clear away trapped oil, dirt and other impurities from the pores
- Bristles are thinner than hair
- Leaves skin refreshingly clean, blackhead free and ultra smooth
- Gentle and soft
- Suitable for daily application and all skin types (even sensitive skin)
- Minimises blackheads and pores
- Exfoliates and removes dead skin cells
- Anti-bacterial
- Use after cleansing foam application; apply gently and don't press too hard; use only a small amount of cleanser; rinse brush with warm water after use
- RRP $36
Verdict
Look, this is my first experience with any kind of cleansing brush - whether something like this or an electric one - so I didn't know what to expect.
What I do know is that I was disappointed by the difference in how this brush felt after wetting it for the first time. It's never been the same again (the bristles seem permanently stuck into clumps) and it doesn't feel as wonderful on my face as it once did. What it now feels like is any normal kind of brush or even a sponge, and I'm not sure it adds anything to my cleansing routine.
Indeed, after the first couple of weeks I really got over using it and went back to scrubbing my face with my hands, which I prefer. This brush just seems like an extra step that doesn't add much and, most days, I can't be bothered.
Is that just me? I know many people love these kinds of tools so I feel like I've missed something. Maybe I'd feel differently if I tried something like the Clarisonic or what have you, but this product just didn't wow me.
If you've used this or something similar, I would love to hear your thoughts.
