Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Makeup Remover - review
/
0 Comments
This was one of my stocking stuffers (thanks Santa) and I've been using it for a while now. Makeup remover is one of those things that I don't normally buy (I rely on cleanser) but I happily use it when I have it.
I haven't found any remover that I love to bits, however, and I do think that a decent cleanser should cover makeup-removing as well. There's such a thing as having too many products in your routine, and I certainly have too many as it is!
Simple claims/product details:
- A perfect blend of ingredients to effectively remove even waterproof mascara
- Contains pro-vitamin B5
- No oil, perfume or colour
- Non greasy, no residue and no unnecessary ingredients so it won't upset your skin
- Dermatologically tested and approved
- To use: apply to cotton wool and wipe gently around the eye area without rubbing
- RRP $9.99 for 125ml, but do shop around
Verdict
This doesn't have great reviews online (see eg makeupalley.com) but I didn't mind it.
It's definitely gentle and removes most makeup effectively enough - it doesn't however remove either of the mascaras I've got open at the moment. Considering this is a dedicated eye makeup remover and one that claims to remove mascara, that's something of an epic fail, and it's probably one of the reasons why most people don't like this product very much!
The other product claims are true enough - it doesn't smell or leave a greasy residue etc - and it definitely gives my cleanser an easier job when it comes to removing the rest of my makeup.
If you're after a super duper remover that really does the job, however, I wouldn't recommend this. Removing mascara is really a key job requirement for this kind of product, so I can't give it any ticks on that front.
The search for a great (and cheap!) makeup remover continues...
