Priceline haircare gift bag - waaahhhooo!!!
/
1 Comments
When you're on a spending ban and you hear about a Priceline goodies bag, your heart sinks a little (well ok, a lot).
UNLESS it happens to be a haircare promotion and you're running out of shampoo and conditioner, and you were only commenting last week on how dry your hair is since you finished off your last intensive hair mask and how much you need to get another one.
That's right: this purchase passed my no buy rules with flying colours. YEAH. The only room I really gave myself was that I wouldn't normally buy products like the above that cost over $10 each to make up the $40 that qualified you for the bag - with haircare I normally opt for the cheaper stuff from the supermarket. Still, these were on special and I only paid $13.49 or something for each of them, so that got me over the $40 mark - just, which is the way I like it ; )
There's the bag the goodies come in - it's more of a sack really - and it's chock full of things that I'll actually use. I made sure the bag contained plenty of stuff I would actually use prior to committing to the purchase; otherwise it wouldn't have been worth it, no matter how much stuff was in there. Fortunately there's a lot of products for dry/damaged hair, and that's definitely me.
Apparently the bag contains products retailing at $190 total. I'll take Priceline's word on that, and I'll confirm that there are some great brands featured in the bag and it's not full of junk, which sometimes these goodies bags can be.
What I'll do in this post is let you know what's in the bag (obviously I haven't had time to use anything yet), just in case you haven't been able to find info on what the bag contains. Note that the promotion runs until 25 February, or until stocks last.
John Frieda Intense After-colour Conditioner 150ml
I love John Frieda's Frizz Ease so I'm very glad to by trying something else from the brand. This is for colour-treated hair and it's designed to keep your colour from fading. While I don't have any (new) colour in my hair at the moment, these types of conditioners tend to be great for those of us with dry/damaged hair, so I'm super happy with this inclusion.
OGX Kukui Oil Frizz Defying Curl Cream 177ml
My hair goes curly given half a chance (and frizzy given no chance) so I might really enjoy this product. It's a leave in treatment containing kukui oil, a super duper Hawaiian oil that I've never heard of but that sounds like something my dry hair would enjoy ; )
Klorane Extra Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk 50ml
I've just had a baby and dry shampoo has now become even more essential - I certainly don't have time to wash it a lot at the moment. I was hoping for dry shampoo in this bundle and was very happy to see two of them in there.
Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo 50ml
I haven't tried Batiste dry shampoos and I've been wanting to for a while, so this is another inclusion I'm super happy about.
Lee Stafford Poker Straight Flat Iron Protection Shine Mist 50ml
I haven't heard of this brand so I'm glad to be trying something from it. Plus straightening sprays are always well-received in my house : )
L'Oreal Elvive Total Repair Extreme 1 Minute Miracle Treatment 20ml
I love the L'Oreal Elvive shampoo and conditioner I'm about to run out of, so I'm looking forward to trying this treatment. It's for dry and damaged hair and I've just popped it in the shower because I definitely need to give my locks some TLC.
Scunci Hair Chalk (5 pieces) and Lady Jayne Hair Extensions
I won't use these but I've chucked them in a box to give a friend with a little girl - they might be good for dress ups and what have you.
Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair Shampoo 50ml and Crystal Shine Conditioner 50ml
You can never have too many travel sized shampoos and conditioners I reckon. The shampoo is for damaged, depleted hair and the conditioner is for dull, normal hair. The conditioner mightn't be heavy enough for me, but let's see.
Cedel Conditioning Foam with Argan Oil 125g
This is a hydrating and detangling mousse for all hair types. It aims to condition, smooth and strengthen. I haven't used anything like this before so I'll be interested to see what it's like.
Toni & Guy Glamour Volume Plumping Whip 80g
This is meant to create body and bounce, without the flyaways. I'm not sure it's a product I'll use, but I won't give it away yet because I've always wanted to try something from this brand.
Pantene 3 Minute Miracle 15ml
This is an intensive treatment for damaged hair. I've used this before and I used this tube last night, and I can confirm that it's smashing. Might try to write a full review today.
Discount vouchers for John Frieda and Precision Foam Colour
I probably won't use either of these because of my no buy and also because I now have a truckload of hair products. Ha.
Revlon Colorsilk and Sol-fine Crema Color vouchers
These are for free colour products and, while I can see why you have to pick these (and not eg get assigned a random colour that won't suit your hair), I'm annoyed that I'll have to go back and pick them. I reckon Priceline should have told its sales staff to warn us about these - that way I could have picked these straight away when I got my bag.
In sum
Not a bad little bag! I'm happy because, unlike makeup and skincare items, I don't have truckloads of hair products on stand-by (aside from too many straightening balms received in sub boxes), so I don't feel overwhelmed by stuff I'll never use.
I reckon this little bag (and the purchase of the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask that I needed) will see me through the rest of this year - and then some - in terms of haircare, which I'm happy about because I don't get too excited by hair products the way I do with makeup and skincare, and it's nice to know I have things in stock and don't need to go out replacing stuff any time soon.
Waaahhhooooo!
