A Happy a Day: Happy Skincare Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm - review
/
0 Comments
As usual I've been avoiding reviewing some of my favourite products because I find it harder to write about those: what really is there to say? Plus I want to make sure I do my favourites justice.
Anyhoo. The Happy Skincare Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm is my favourite Happy product. I first discovered it in Bellabox and quickly went out to buy the sample pack: such great value because it allows you to try four of Happy's best products, and you don't have to pay for shipping!
After trialling the sample pack, I bought the full-sized products - and over time, I've bought many other Happy items when they've been on special or there's been a gift-with-purchase promotion etc (as we've established, I'm a sucker for those).
Note: You can sign up for Happy's newsletter here if you'd like to be on the list to learn about special promotions etc.
What I've decided to do is review all the Happy products I've tried over the course of the next week or two (hence the 'Happy a Day' title). That'll hopefully give you a good idea of these products and a more complete view of the range, in case you're considering purchasing any Happy products and don't know where to start.
Happy Skincare
If you don't know much about Happy, it's worth looking into the brand. In short, the company comprises a husband and wife team who run a great show, provide excellent customer service and make you feel like part of the family. And that's before we even get to the quality of the products.
In Happy's words:
Inspired by Australian mineral clays, oils and botanical extracts, we create skincare that is simple, organic, 100% natural and effective for all skin types - even problem skin. With anti-ageing in every product, you’re on your way to clear, glowing skin from day one.
Our products are recommended by medical professionals and we stand behind every product with a full satisfaction guarantee. We specialise in skincare for mature and sensitive skin, dry skin, acne and pimples, chemotherapy and radiation therapy patients, eczema, irritated skin, diabetics and people living with lymphoedema.
Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm
This is a cult product and by far Happy's most popular item. This cleansing balm costs a very reasonable $34.10 and the product will last you for ages.
It smells wonderful - lemony, fresh and clean - and goes on the skin so richly that it feels like it has moisturising properties as well. It's therefore a great cleanser for dry skin and particularly in winter, when we're more prone to red, flaky skin. It removes dirt and grime well, and leaves your skin feeling softer and hydrated.
There's a couple of ways to use it - either rub it on your face like a cream and then leave it for a while to do its work before washing off with water, or use water to create an emulsion before application. I generally prefer the first way. For more information on use, see here.
Happy claims/product details:
- Luxurious, soap free and a divine citrus aroma
- 84% organic; 100% natural
- Dissolves the oily impurities in your skin, gently melting away daily grime, oxidised sebum (blackheads), makeup and sunscreen
- Cleanses and moisturises at the same time (unlike common cleansers); cleans while supporting the skin's fragile acid mantle
- Balances the complexion of all skin types and is calming for sensitive skin
- Nourishes the skin with the beauty mineral MSM and other essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals
- Brightens, tones and moisturises
- Contains the serene oils of lemon myrtle, sandalwood, mandarin and vanilla to calm frazzled nerves while treating your skin
- Australian owned and made
- Not tested on animals
- RRP $34.10 for 80ml; 30 day full satisfaction guarantee; free delivery for Australian orders over $100 (or $9.90 for other orders)
Note this product can also be used as a: hair treatment to tame frizz; cuticle treatment; foot balm; and barrier cream when you’re out battling the elements (eg for snow season and winter cycling). Cool.
Verdict
Love. Love love love. What else is there to say?
This product absolutely lives up to its claims and it became a staple in my skincare armoury from the first time I used it. If you're considering purchasing this, it's worth having a look at the many reviews/testimonials on the Happy website that rave about it. Honestly can't recommend this one enough. I've given it an HG tag.
Have you tried it? If so, what did you think?
