LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub - review
/
0 Comments
This one showed up in our May 2014 Violet Boxes: in my opinion, one of the best Violet Boxes on record. It was the sneak peek item for that month and I was super excited to receive it - in part because I'd never used a lip scrub before and I'd been wanting to buy one since my lips were getting drier as the weather got colder.
Happily, when I saw that this was the sneak peek, I didn't need to buy the one I'd had my eye on. Waaahhhoooo!
This product comes in a cute little jar and was apparently made by 'Shiva' on 31.10.13 (see photo below).
Including the name and picture of the person who prepared this is a nice touch - it humanises the process or something. The product is only good until 31.12.14, so I'd better get cracking!
LUSH's Popcorn Lip Scrub contains coconut oil and sugar, and has a buttery, caramel taste.
To use it, you 'scrub and buff your lips to softness, lick off the excess' and then apply lip balm. I'm not sure about licking off the excess, but it certainly smells good enough to make you want to do that.
As you can see from the above and below photos, it's a grainy product with noticeable sugar crystals - those crystals buff your lips nicely without being too harsh.
LUSH claims/product details:
- Moisturising lip scrub containing coconut and jojoba oils, sugar, sea salt and polenta
- The perfect mix to buff your lips to perfection and leave them smooth and moisturised
- Featuring popping candy sweetness and the premier of our all-new salted caramel flavour
- Leaves lips soft and tasting more-ish
- RRP $9.95 for 25g
- Shelf-life: 14 months
Verdict
I love this. It smells amazeballs and works wonders on dry, flakey lips. Does it live up to its claims? Absolutely. It rids your lips of those annoying bits of skin that make your lippie look rubbish and leaves them feeling softer and more hydrated.
I've accidentally tasted it a few times - hard not to, when it's on your lips - and it does indeed taste amazing. I'm just not sure about licking it off your lips on purpose (though that's probably just me being weird ; )). I have a feeling this will become my go-to lip scrub, particularly because it's reasonably priced as well.
Big ticks from me!
