SkinYoga Oats & Roses Face Wash - review
/
1 Comments
You may remember that I recently wrote an introductory post on SkinYoga as a brand, after having received these three sample skincare items from recent Lust Have It subscription boxes.
While the packaging is some of the nicest I've ever seen, unfortunately this may be a case of not judging a book by its cover, since I haven't been wowed by the products so far.
While I'll hold judgement on the face mask and facial exfoliant until I've used them some more, it didn't take many uses for me to know that this SkinYoga Oats & Roses Face Wash just isn't for me.
It doesn't cleanse well and it leaves me with a film on my face that I need to wash off with another product after use. Not what you want from a cleanser!
- For toning and cleansing
- Rose petals are considered to be a natural toner and an excellent sunblock
- Oats contain natural cleansers that remove dirt and oil from the pores without causing irritation
- This vitamin C enriched combination with real rose petals will leave your skin feeling protected, clean and toned
- To use: take one teaspoon of powder in cupped hand; add few drops of water to make a paste; apply to face and massage gently into skin; rinse thoroughly
- RRP $31 AUD for 50g
Verdict
My main issues with this cleanser are that it doesn't clean well and it also leaves a film on the face that's a little sticky and needs to be removed. I've no idea what the film is but it's not something I want on my face all day.
While it's not a hugely heavy coating that's left behind, I'm definitely aware of it and I suspect it comes from an oil inside the product because it repels water and takes a bit to wash off.
As for the cleanser itself, it's a white powder with little soft bits in it (I guess that's the rose petals) that smells gently of oats. When mixed with water and applied, I'd hoped the little bits would have an exfoliating function but they're too soft for that and instead they just cling to the skin and can be annoying to wash off.
While this cleanser doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, it doesn't do much for it at all - and indeed, my face feels more dirty after I've used this due to the film it leaves behind. It also does nothing in terms of removing makeup, so it's not a product I would recommend for night: it's best for morning when you don't have as much to remove.
On the claims, this product doesn't cleanse or tone well at all, and I can't recommend it on any front because it does so little for my skin. As mentioned above, the main thing it does is leave my skin feeling coated, which is definitely not something I want from a cleanser.
Definitely not for me. Foo! I so wanted to love this.
Have you used anything from SkinYoga? I'd love to hear : )
