Rohr Remedy Australian Wildflower Deodorant - review
/
0 Comments
I received this natural deodorant in a sub box recently and at the time I was happy to see it because I was almost out of my deodorant and I kept forgetting to buy a replacement when I went to the supermarket - so this was one of those 'saved me a purchase' items that caused more excitement than it normally would.
Unfortunately, however, this hasn't saved me a purchase at all because it just doesn't work, or at least it doesn't for me. This could be partly because it's not a strong deodorant, and partly because - ever since my second pregnancy - I seem to have become smellier and I can't just reach for any deodorant these days like I used to. It needs to be a good one.
Rohr Remedy claims/product details:
- Time-tested ingredients used by the world’s longest continuous living culture, that of the indigenous Aboriginal people
- Rohr Remedy beautifully fuses nature and science to produce a local skincare hero label
- Crafted from Australian wildflower essential oils
- Contains potent antibacterial and deodorising properties to ensure you smell as clean and pure as the outdoors, all summer long
- RRP $16 AUD for 30ml
I really like the packaging of this product, from the sea-green box with print inside to the sleek black bullet.
This deodorant just looks and feels luxe to use, and I can't remember the last time I used one that felt and looked this fancy.
Mind you, the packaging isn't without its issues: mine took ages to get going because the roller-ball mechanism was jammed and I couldn't get the damn thing to work.
Eventually I found myself running the ball along an old towel, in the hope that the roughness from the towel would provide enough friction against the ball to get it to shift from its place and start dispensing product. Finally it did, but it took a lot of elbow grease at the time.
Verdict
While I love the look and feel of this product, unfortunately it hasn't worked for me and it's one that I've been layering with another deodorant, since I can't use it on its own.
It's a standard roller-ball deodorant that's much nicer than any other deodorant I've used because the packaging is a hefty black glass and it just looks and feels nice.
Problem is, not only did my packaging get jammed as mentioned above, but it keeps getting jammed and I often need to move it back and forth a number of times before the ball shifts and dispenses product. Plus this morning my ball actually flew out of the tube when I gave the product a shake because it had stopped working again. So either the packaging needs work, or I just got a bad one.
It does smell like the bush and it applies like any other deodorant of its kind, and I quite like the scent so no complaints there.
Unfortunately, however, the product itself does nothing for my underarms and so I can usually smell myself beneath the wildflower scent within an hour of application. While I do think I've become stinkier after my second pregnancy, most deodorants still work for me so I know that this one can't be very good and I wouldn't buy it if you need something stronger.
So in sum, I like the idea of this product but it doesn't work for me and either the packaging needs re-jigging, or I just got a bad one.
Have you tried this product? Let me know what you think if so.
