Nivea Irresistibly Smooth Body Soufflé - review

I was so busy with work last month that I had the smallest blogging month on record in terms of the number of posts I was able to write, and so far this month I've been playing catch-up with all the stuff I fell behind on - which is a slow process but I'll get there in the end.
Next up on my list is this body cream from Nivea, which I've been using for ages although I've had to ration it because I didn't want to finish it before I was able to review it, and since I have some time today before heading into the city for meetings, I thought I'd sneak my review in now.
I like it. It's super hydrating and my dry skin loves it. More on that below.
Nivea claims/product details:
- This light-whipped soufflé formula with precious shea butter gently melts into the skin
- Instantly wraps the whole body in moisturisation for a long-lasting effect
- Provides a baby-soft feeling to your skin
- Supplies your skin with intensive moisture
- Non-greasy formula
- For dry skin
- RRP $9.95 AUD for 300ml, but do shop around
Verdict
I really like this product and I would absolutely buy it again. It's been perfect for my dry skin and I enjoy the experience of using it, plus it's not super expensive so it's one I would recommend because it won't break the bank.
It's a beautifully rich, thick and creamy product with that familiar Nivea scent that's definitely there but not overpowering. I enjoy using it for the texture alone, although the product may be too heavy for those who have oily skin or who don't like heavier creams.
I also like that it's super nourishing and hydrating, but it doesn't feel too heavy for my dry skin. Plus it spreads and absorbs well so a little goes a long way and I don't need to work too hard to get the product to sink in.
Do note, though, that it does leave a greasy residue behind and while it's not the worst residue I've encountered, I can still feel it if I happen to touch my body after application. While this doesn't bother me because I have my shower in the evenings and tend to go to bed soon afterwards, I know it may bother some so I wanted to mention it.
On the claims: yes it gently melts into the skin; yes it offers long-lasting moisturisation; yes it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth; and yes it's great for my dry skin.
Overall I really enjoy this product and I recommend it. It's reasonably priced (especially if you wait for specials), it's hydrating and it suits my dry skin perfectly, especially in the cooler months when I need something richer. I'll definitely be buying it again.
Love.
