Mecca L3 Beauty Loop Box, July 2018 - unboxing
/
0 Comments
Yesterday we got the email that the Mecca Beauty Loop boxes were out, and since my husband was home sick from work (indeed, we've both been sick for the past week - BOO), we were able to combine a few errands and grab the box immediately. Huzzah.
I'm always interested to see what's in these and this one sounded good because it's based on the winners of this year's Mecca Beauty Election. While it's always good to try some bestselling products, in this case it has meant that I've received a couple of repeats so not everything in here is new to me. Hoh well. I'm still happy with it : )
So the two products I've received before in one of these boxes are the Tocca fragrance and the Urban Decay setting spray. I like them both so I'm happy to use them again, but I will flag that I generally prefer to try new things in these boxes - although of course I'm just splitting hairs there ; )
Let's have a quick look at each item in turn.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray (15ml)
Full review here. This is described as an advanced mist that prevents melting, fading or settling into lines, and keeps makeup looking fresh and flawless for up to 16 hours. It helps regulate the temperature of your makeup so your eyes, lips and complexion stay fresh.
I have to say, this spray absolutely works and I'm pleased to have a sample in my collection again. While it's not the most hydrating spray I've tried, it's definitely the best in terms of longevity so it's great for big events. Recommended.
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma (0.88ml)
If you haven't heard about these, I suspect you're living under a rock: everyone raves about them and everyone seems to own at least one. While I don't because I'm not a glitter person and I also have hooded eyes (so I'm expecting some transfer and glitter fall-out), I'm still thrilled to have the opportunity to try one.
We received the famous champagne shade, Kitten. The formula claims to offer unparalleled sparkle, weightless shine and no fall-out. Looking forward to trying!
Tocca Emelia EDP (1.5ml)
I've been spraying myself with this fragrance when I go into Mecca ever since it came out (a while ago now). It's one of those scents that I wouldn't normally buy but something about it just works and it lasts well so it's one I've considered purchasing - although in a small size because I'd never get through a large one.
It's a fig fragrance but it's not as full-on as other fig scents I've tried and it also contains geranium, magnolia and amaryllis. What's good about receiving this sample is that I'll be able to work out whether I want to buy the travel-sized bottle, so hopefully the sample is big enough for me to decide whether or not it's a keeper.
Goldfaden MD Vital Boost (7ml)
This is described as a supercharged daily moisturiser to correct the look of uneven skintone. The cream works to improve skin elasticity and encourage a more youthful-looking complexion. It includes goodies like antioxidants, vitamin d, hyaluronic acid and gooseberry extract.
Goldfaden is one of those brands that I've been meaning to try more from for a while, so I'm pleased to have the opportunity to try this cream. Interestingly the reviews on Mecca's website are conflicting and the product isn't rated that highly overall, so I don't have my hopes up too much but I'll still be pleased to test it.
In sum
I do get excited about these boxes and I think this is a good one. It contains a good mix of products and even though I've tried two of the items before, I liked both of them so I won't complain about the repeats.
Do let me know in the comments what you received in your box and whether you're happy with it.
Hope all's well with you, and speak soon x
