Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion - review

I made the mistake of editing bundles of photos yesterday, which means that I no longer have forty-something posts in my drafts and I'm back up to sixty. Ooops! As you may know, this was something I was trying to avoid. Hoh well, at least I have posts to write.

Today I wanted to review this Nivea body lotion. I've tried a few body creams from Nivea over the past year and I've liked them all so I was interested in trying more from the range. Next up is this Express Hydration version, which I do like although it's not my personal favourite so I wouldn't buy it again. More on that below.

Nivea claims/product details:

  • Infused with the Nivea Intensive Moisture Serum and sea minerals
  • Absorbs in seconds and leaves your skin smoother and intensely moisturised for 48hrs - after just one application
  • Fast absorbing, long lasting moisturiser
  • Gives a fresh feeling and scent all day long
  • Promotes a non-stop moisture supply from within the skin
  • With a blue lotus fragrance
  • RRP $7.99 AUD for 400ml, but do shop around (I bought mine at half-price)

Verdict

This is a good body cream and while I don't like it as much as my HG Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Lotion (reviewed here), I still like it and I recommend it.

It's a white cream with that familiar Nivea scent. It's spreads and applies well, and it's lighter in texture than some of the other Nivea body products I've tried so it should suit those who don't like heavy creams.

I like that the product nourishes and hydrates my dry skin, but do be aware that it leaves a tacky film so it mightn't be for everyone. While I don't mind that sensation because my skin is so parched, others may have issues with it because you can feel the product on the skin after use.

The other thing to note about this product is that I don't use as much per application as I would normally expect to use with body creams, so I haven't burned through it as quickly as I have other products. This is of course a plus because the product lasts longer and also costs less per application (and it's not expensive to start with).

On the claims: yes it's intensively moisturising; yes it's fast absorbing and relatively long lasting; no I don't think it moisturises for 48 hours; and yes it eases dryness after just one application.

Overall I think this is a decent product and I recommend it. While it's not my favourite cream from Nivea's range, I still enjoy it and it works.

Worth trying.
