If you're wondering why the title of the product - 'Protect & Moisture' - sounds wrong (aside from the fact that they've put 'Moisture' next to 'Moisturising': I mean really), let me explain.

'Protect' is a verb. 'Moisture' is a noun. If they wanted the title to work, then they should have called it 'Moisture & Protection' (both nouns) or 'Moisturise & Protect' (both verbs). You'll note that I've also reversed the two words because they sound better that way, plus this avoids the whole 'Moisture Moisturising' issue.

You see what I mean?

The clang of what they've done with the title was almost enough to make me not buy it - likely because I'm a grammar nut and can't handle such things (forgive me: I'm a writer/editor so errors like this make me squirm) - but in any event, anyone I've shown this product to thinks the title sounds ridiculous, even if they can't pinpoint why. So it's not just me.

Verdict

I'm really enjoying this sunscreen. Sure, I get annoyed every time I look at the packaging and see the 'Protect & Moisture' clang of the title (can't help it; I'm a crazy grammar lady), but otherwise I think it's a great little product.

It's a white, fluid lotion with that familiar Nivea scent that manages to be fresh, sweet and creamy at the same time. Yes I can smell some sunscreen in there too, but the smell of sunscreen has never bothered me so I don't mind that.

It has a thin, lightweight and hydrating texture: my dry skin loves the feel of it. Most sunscreens feel like they moisturise because they're naturally greasy, but they often don't hydrate my skin well in practice. This one does, which is reason enough for me personally to buy it.

Yes it has a slightly greasy finish, but it's nowhere near as bad as most sunscreens and I don't mind that because my skin is dry and I'm all about the dew. I also like that it doesn't feel as though it clogs pores - perhaps because it's so lightweight that my skin feels like it can breathe underneath - so this might be a good one to try if sunscreens are typically too heavy for you.

Overall I think this is a good product that generally meets its claims and I recommend it. As mentioned above, it hasn't replaced my HG Mecca To Save Face, but it's a lot cheaper (especially if you find it on special) so I can use it every day and save the Mecca one for special occasions. 

Worth trying.
